Individual psychotherapy and group psychotherapy are very different things:
Individual psychotherapy focusses on the INTRA-personal, in-depth, aspects of our being whereas group psychotherapy highlights the INTER-personal aspect through echo and resonance with others. One is as important as the other - for we get born as individuals into a group, and groups of one sort or another stay with us throughout our life.
Group therapy offers the space to explore how you function in the world: it provides you with a safe enough context where you will be able to experiment with new ways of communicating.
I currently offer three group experiences at Number 42, all of which are designed to be long term and 'slow open', which means that new members will join with a minimum of 4 weeks' notification to the group. During this time, the new member will have individual meetings with me to prepare them for their entry into the group.
