Contractual Arrangements

SESSIONS

Session length will be 50 minutes and, as far as possible, they will fall on the same time each week. However, shift work can be accommodated.

I offer a 48 hour cancellation period - missed sessions that are cancelled within this period will be billed.  When appropriate, I can also offer to see you twice weekly.

CONTRACTS

I offer several individual contracts:

• Brief time limited to a fixed number of weeks
• Medium length time limited therapy of up to around 20 weeks.
• An open ended contract, which is ongoing therapy.

I expect notification of endings of sessions to be in relation to the time we have been working with each other.

Group work requires your commitment for at least two terms.

CONFIDENTIALITY

I provide a confidential service. This means that sessions will not be discussed with anyone outside professional contexts. Please note that:

• I will discuss our work with a supervisor to ensure good practice.
• I would be required to provide copies of case notes or to appear in person if ordered to do so by a Judge.
• I am also obliged to report the following to the appropriate authorities: Current child abuse; Threats of deliberate harm against the life of another person; Threats to commit terrorist acts

ETHICS

I practice under a code of ethics regulated by the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). You can find details HERE.

Any serious complaints against my practice will need to be taken up with the BACP. Please follow THIS LINK for further information.

DATA PROTECTION

As required by the The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), my practice is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under the reference ZA352899.

When we decide to work with each other, I will formally ask your permission for me to store your data and records according to ICO guidelines.
